WW - Rolex Oyster Cosmograph "Tropical" Daytona, ref 6265, circa 1972, 37mm x 45mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back Oyster case with polished steel tachymeter bezel with black painted highlights, replacement top pusher with the later MK3 variant, bottom retains the original MK2 pusher, Rolex C&I riveter Oyster bracelet, original tropical silvered "panda" dial with applied silver baton indices with luminous pip at edge, three inset subregisters for minute recording, hour recording and subsidiary seconds have faded from the traditional black to an attractive brown, 17J cal 727, adjusted to 3 positions, s#3055493, triple signed with signed clasp, bracelet date stamp of 1-73, inside back ref 6262. A watch that needs no introductions or apologies, this 6265 Daytona with tropical subregisters is the Bee's Knees, and no matter whether you are in the company of CEO's, billionaires or avid watch collectors, this will stand out as one hell of a nice watch.

Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide, very light fine scratches to plates; excellent dial with light spotting as well as two fine scratches with one next to the 2 o'clock indice and one next to the 8 o'clock indice; fine-plus hands with light bend in hour hand; lightly polished case shows very little wear, retains some of its original factory finishing, light dings on the backs of the lugs from being worn on a bracelet; bracelet shows medium wear, medium stretch; original Rolex signed Triplock crown shows hardly any wear, screw down pushers show little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction.
